Rabbi

I connect people to Jewish ritual, Jewish tradition, and Jewish community. I create profound sacred moments whether it is for a congregation on shabbat and holidays or it is a personalized ceremony to celebrate a wedding or bar/bat mitzvah. My sermons illuminate ancient Jewish concepts and make them relevant to our modern lives. I have worked in a variety of Jewish communities including Hillels and Reform, Conservative and Unaffiliated synagogues.

Educator

Education is at the heart of what it means to be a rabbi. I relish teaching classes for any age. I have created innovative educational programming in both formal and informal settings. I supervise teams of teachers and support them in deepening their own knowledge of Judaism and pedagogy. As an innately organized person, I have successfully administrated complex programs that collaborate with many community organizations.

Musician

Jewish music was my first love. Little brings me greater satisfaction than elevating a special moment to a spiritual experience with music. As a singer, I have been trained in many styles from folk to broadway, but my favorite is leading a community to sing with me. I use my proficiency in guitar, ukulele, and hand drum to encourage participation.

I will sing to HaShem because God has been good to me!

Testimonials
  • Scott F. and Rebecca C.

“We were overjoyed by the amazing ceremony Rabbi Lenza performed at our WEDDING in June 2018. Upon meeting her, Rabbi Lenza was welcoming, loving, informative, and encouraging of us wanting a Jewish wedding. She guided us through all the steps, different options for our ceremony, and helped us with couples counseling. On our wedding day, she walked everyone through the different components of the ceremony and explained what everything meant. Everyone raved about our amazingly talented rabbi! More that one guest suggested she be on Broadway! We love Rabbi Lenza and recommend her to everyone.”

  • Joanie L.

“Planning a DIY BABY NAMING ceremony on zero sleep would have been an incredibly difficult task if it hadn’t been for Rabbi Lenza. She seamlessly walked us through each moment, effortlessly helping to plan the ceremony. She even helped us pick out the perfect Hebrew name for my daughter. Highly recommend!”

Educator

Education is at the heart of what it means to be a rabbi. Whether it is a one time session or a series of classes, I design engaging and thoughtful educational experiences. I have experience in education for children, teens, adults and families. Some of the classes I teach include: Introduction to Judaism, Torah Study, Talmud Study, and Bad Girls of the Bible. I can also craft a unique lesson or series of lessons to fit your needs.

Dramatic Translations, Spiels, & Sermons

Drawing on my background in the performing arts, I create unique interpretations of sacred stories. My original pieces are rooted in traditional Jewish sources, but allow us to see these familiar narratives through new eyes. I can customize a unique experience for any community as a centerpiece for worship or as a stand alone program.
